Laparoscopic Removal of a Large Kidney Stone

Used for: Selected very large kidney stones when keyhole removal is clinically appropriate

The stone is removed through small abdominal incisions when endoscopic or percutaneous treatment is unsuitable for the individual case.

Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy

Used for: Selected kidney tumours

Only the tumour is removed where clinically appropriate, with the aim of preserving healthy kidney tissue.

The affected kidney is removed using a laparoscopic approach when complete kidney removal is indicated.

The urinary bladder is removed laparoscopically with an individually planned form of urinary diversion.

Used for: Pelvi-ureteric junction (PUJ) obstruction

The narrowed or blocked junction between the kidney and ureter is reconstructed through small incisions.
